Merry (late) Christmas and a Happy New Year

Well i'm sure all of you who read our blog are happy to see that this finaly isn't a novel about our vacation. However we have been so busy lately that we havn't had time to update our blog about our christmas and new years. So here we go.

For Christmas Eve we went over to my Grandpa and Grandma Prices for there traditional Christmas Party. We had a nice dinner and then a few christmas stories were told as well as the Nativity that the younger kids in the family perform and then the white elephant gift exchange. These are always fun and this year I walked away with Short Circuit on DVD and Kiera got a nose hair trimmer lol.

Since this was our first Christmas being married we decided to do our Christmas at our house. My mom gave us all our presents from her and my step dad so it was nice seeing many presents under the tree. We had many things to do that day so we woke up at 8am to get ready and open our presents. Me and Kiera didn't do a big christmas for each other this year because our California Trip was our Christmas this to each other this year. So we gave each other a $50 price limit (which we both went over). I gave Kiera a Aeropostale hoodie and some new jeans. I also gave her some Burts Bees chapstick, some Lotion from Bath and Body Works, a Day Planner, a Blanket, and a Chocolate Orange. Kiera gave me Lego Indiana Jones for the Xbox, Season 1 of Chuck, A Blanket, Some Hot Wheels, Mints, and a Gift Card to Jamba Juice.

One tradition we do that we have carried from my mom is that each year we also give each other an Ornament that signifies something that happened thruout the year. This year I gave kiera an ornament that says "Teachers Rule" to signify Kiera getting her new job as a teacher at Fran Brown. Kiera gave me one thats a Oven Mit to signify all the times I would make dinner for her at work and even more so for the incident of me blowing up her measuring bowl on the stove. But thats a story for another time. I must say that it was weird not reciving an ornament from my mom since I have for the past 11 years but now that I'm married its something that we continue on with each other now.

After opening our gifts to each other it was on to the Gifts from my Mom and Step Dad. They gave us a Tent and some Sleeping Bags as well as a Upconvert DVD player that converts standard DVD's to a high defintion picture. They also gave both of us a couple shirts and Hoodies.

After we finished getting ready for the day we headed over to my Mom's house where they make a big breakfast every Christmas. This year it was Steak and Egg's which I love. My brother Jake and his Girlfriend Calli came up too so it was fun spending time with them and my little brothers playing there new Wii. After my parents we then Headed over to Kiera's family to see how there Christmas was. They gave us some food storage and also a plastic model of my Type R to put together. We spent the rest of the afternoon over there and then it was time to go over to Kieras Grandparents for there Christmas Party. There we did the typical thing of eating dinner, opening gifts, and spending time with family. While were were there the big Christmas storm rolled in. Whats normally about an 8 minute drive home took us about a half hour. I was just happy we made it home safe and sound. But that pretty much ended our Christmas day but not the Christmas holiday.

On the 26th it was my Grandma Cagles Christmas party. Once again it was nice to see all my family. We had the traditional Ham dinner and opened gifts and had a white elephant gift exchange. It was weird not having Grandpa Cagle with us this year for Christmas but I know he was there in our hearts.

Because of the Snow storms on Christmas day we didn't make it down to my Dads. However we did go down the following sunday. We picked up my brother Jake in Salt Lake and then headed down to my dads in Orem. It was nice seeing him and the family too. This year he gave us money again which we used to buy a new Desktop Computer from Dell which we are still waiting for at this time. But its worth the wait because my Laptop has been struggling as of late.

That pretty much concludes the Christmas part of this blog. This Christmas we were finally a family and were so happy to reflect on the blessing of the holidays and more so for Christ birth and the ultimate gift he would give us that being Eternal Life. We are already looking forward to next year as this Christmas was one we would never forget. Here are some pictures of the rest of our christmas decorating around the house too. We had 2 trees. Our main decorative one that is pictured above as well as a little fun one that has our fun ornaments on.

For New Years Eve I was lucky enough to have the whole day off of work. However Kiera wasn't and she had to work tell 2 (I had the pleasure of workihg in the morning New Years Day). That night we had a busy schedule again. We started the night at my parents where they had most of the Price family over. We had a small dinner and had fun playing the Wii and some other games with the family. After my family's we stopped by my old roommate Tyler's house for an hour or so and played some Guitar Hero on his sweet tv with Ryan and Jake. I must say that the drum set with the Guitar Hero is much harder to play then the Rock Band ones are but they are still way fun. Our last stop was at Kiera's Grandparents where we would end up celebrating the New year with popers, and sparklers, and whistle blower things, and the other typical New Years stuff. They also had Pizza and other good snacks to eat and we also got a pretty mean game of Phase 10 going on.

We look forward to whatever 2009 has in store for us. However its going to be pretty hard to top the amazing year of 2008 that Kiera and I had together. We wish you all a Happy New Year and hope all continues to go well for all of you.
