Christmas 2010

Its really hard to think back over a year ago to what we did that Christmas. A Christmas which at the time we had no idea would be mine and Kieras last one without children. And so we begin with Christmas Eve. As we get ready to retire for the night.

I start Christmas Eve night because we have a tradition we started once we got married. That is we open one gift on Christmas Eve. What is that gift we open? Its the ornaments that Kiera and I give one another each year. The ornaments always signify something we did the year prior. Its a tradition that my Mom did for us that I we decided to continue. This year Kiera gave me a Motorcycle as I learned to drive her Dads bike, and Kiera got a tropical Snowman for the love she has on our tropical vacations. After opening these small gifts we retired to bed to start our soon to be busy Christmas day.

Christmas morning was soon upon us and Kiera and I would start the busy day by opening our gifts to one another. Having just finished a big vacation and planning another we decided to do a small Christmas. The Major gifts we gave to one another were a new pair of boots, Clothes, and home decor for Kiera and a Car buffer and some Blu-Ray's for me.

Perhaps the best thing though that I could have asked for was that my family was able to fly home from South Carolina for the holidays. For 2 weeks my Mom, Step dad, and Brothers flew home and stayed at my Grandmas house. To continue the traditions of the past after Kiera and I finished our gift opening we got ready for the day and headed over to my Grandma Cagles to have breakfast with my family.

Although we went to my breakfast and my parents had our Christmas gifts there we wouldn't be opening them yet. Instead we drove down to Kieras parents to do Christmas with her family. We would be going back to my Grandmas later in the afternoon when my Brother and Sister and there families could also be there to open our gifts all together.

At Kieras Family this would be the final Christmas for 2 years that they would have there entire family together. This was because later in 2011 Kieras brother would be leaving to serve a LDS mission. After watching her siblings open all of there gifts we finally opened our gift from her parents. Which was a LG Blu-Ray player.

So back to my Grandmas we went to do Christmas with my family. Although my little brothers did there Christmas early in the morning it was an absolute blast watching my nephew Jaxon open all of his gifts. My parents gave us a gift card to Lowes that we put towards buying a Chest Freezer for our garage.

To end our Christmas day we went to Kieras Grandmas Christmas party. As you can see this was a very busy Christmas with lots of driving to make sure we saw everybody. It was a wonderful Christmas though and we looked forward to whatever the coming year would bring. Little did we know at the time that it would bring forth the most amazing addition to our life that we could ever ask for.
